How it works

  1. Pick a horse in every race at each meeting before the day's deadline.
  2. Name your NAP, your best bet of the day. If it wins, its points are doubled.
  3. Score the starting price: a 7/1 winner scores 7 points. Every race is capped at 16 points so one long-shot can't decide it.
  4. Climb the leaderboards: daily, festival and the season table you're entered into automatically.

Jumps season tipping competition FAQs

Is there a free jumps season tipping competition?
Yes. Pat's NAPs is a free horse racing prediction game that runs through the 2026/27 jumps season. You pick a horse in every race at each big meeting, name your NAP for double points and climb the leaderboard. There's no stake and nothing to buy.
Which meetings are included?
The big jumps meetings of the season, including Cheltenham Open Meeting, Cheltenham November Meeting, Haydock Betfair Chase Day, Newbury Coral Gold Cup Weekend, Sandown Tingle Creek Weekend, Cheltenham December Meeting and more, through to Aintree and Punchestown. More meetings may be added as the season goes on.
Is there a season-long leaderboard?
Yes. Every jumps festival you play counts towards a season leaderboard, and you're entered automatically when you join your first jumps festival. There are prizes at the festivals and for the season, for solo players and mini-leagues.
How does scoring work?
A winner scores its starting price as points: a 7/1 winner earns 7 points and a 5/2 winner earns 2.5. Your NAP's points are doubled. Every race is capped at 16 points, so one long-shot can't decide a festival on its own. Losers score 0.
What is a NAP?
A NAP is a tipster's most confident selection of the day. In Pat's NAPs you name one NAP per race day and its points are doubled if it wins.
Can I play with my mates?
Yes. Start a free mini-league and share the link. Mini-leagues carry on from one festival to the next through the season, so your group stays together.
